My friends at NAKIVO informed me about their latest v10.4 release of their Data Protection solution. With ransomware becoming a larger threat for businesses around the globe, NAKIVO is emphasising security enhancements in this release.
What’s new in v10.4?

Immutable Repository
Ransomware is becoming more sophisticated and often targets backup repositories to ensure companies cannot resort to a last known good backup of their data. Enabling immutability ensures backup data can not be changed in any way once it is written to the repository. This means ransomware cannot encrypt the backup data and there is always a good copy of data available.

Two-Factor Authentication
To ensure admin or superuser accounts are well protected, NAKIVO Backup & Replication now supports 2FA using a mobile app like Google Authenticator. This increases the security posture and ensures unauthorised access to the data protection solution is not possible.
