I started a YouTube channel where I mainly cover VMware NSX-T-related topics. I try to focus on the more foundational topics instead of many of the awesome content already out there on all the cutting edge and more advanced topics. I’m blown away by the number of subscribers, views, and, most importantly, sincere “thank you’s” comments from people new to NSX.
As CTO at ITQ, I don’t do much hands-on stuff with tech, so that I might make a few mistakes along the way. If you catch me saying something out of place or if I’m missing something really important, please let me know in the comments!
New video on Microsegmentation and the NSX Distributed Firewall
In this video, I explain the fundamentals of NSX Microsegmentation with the VMware NSX-T Distributed Firewall (DFW). I will walk you through a short lecture on what NSX Microsegmentation is and what benefits it brings compared to traditional network segmentation. I will show you how to microsegment two traditional 3-tier apps in a Production and DevTest environment in my home lab environment.
Topics covered in the video
- What is microsegmentation?
- What value does microsegmentation bring opposed to traditional VLAN based network segmentation?
- How to use the NSX-T Distributed Firewall (DFW)
- Demo of the DFW in action
